Dispatch lives in a group text
Three crews, one owner's phone, and a schedule that exists nowhere else. When the phone is in a truck, the office guesses. The assessment shows which of those messages should have been a system.
AI consulting · Hebron, Indiana
The contractors, farm-service outfits and haulers on the county line passed twenty people a while ago. The office still runs like they didn't. We sit down with everyone and write the plan.
First call is free. Hebron is a short drive.
Hebron sits where Porter County meets the Lake County line, and it is quietly filling in: new streets at Springwood, townhomes near downtown, families who commute to Valparaiso or Merrillville and come home at six. The companies that serve all of that are older than the subdivisions. Contractors and landscapers running crews out of yards along SR 8, the farm-service and grain-systems outfits working the ground between here and the river, the trucking and hauling operations that use the county line as a base. A good number of them passed twenty people years ago without ever changing how the office runs. The owner still knows every name. The owner can no longer see every desk.
That is the size the AI Opportunity Assessment is built for. Over two weeks we sit down with people at every level of the company, from the owner to the crew lead to the person who keys in the tickets, and follow real work from the first call to the paid invoice. Every step that eats hours or causes errors gets tagged and gets a number. Then you get a written plan: what to do first, what is a big swing, what to leave alone, and the math behind each one.
Nothing goes in the plan you have not already seen and argued with, and nothing in it requires buying software from us. If the honest answer is a better spreadsheet, the plan says so. We charge for the thinking. Building is optional. Hebron is a short drive, so the interviews happen at your yard or your office, around your crews' schedule, usually inside the first week.
What we tend to find
Three crews, one owner's phone, and a schedule that exists nowhere else. When the phone is in a truck, the office guesses. The assessment shows which of those messages should have been a system.
A field ticket on paper, retyped into the schedule, retyped again into the invoice. In a thirty-person outfit that is a job nobody hired for, and it is where the errors start.
Spring and fall work gets done in weeks and invoiced in months. The gap is cash sitting in a drawer of tickets. Usually the first quick win on the map.
The assessment
The AI Opportunity Assessment runs the same way everywhere: we sit down with the people doing the work, map how a job actually moves, and hand you a written plan for where AI actually helps. Yours to keep, whether we build it or your own people do.

Kouts is fifteen minutes east on 8, Wheatfield twenty south, Crown Point twenty northwest, and the Jasper County towns down 231 are close behind. The assessment runs the same way in each.
Questions
Maybe, and we will tell you straight. The assessment is built for companies of twenty or more, where work moves between enough hands that the owner cannot see every step. Under that, book the call anyway. Forty-five minutes is usually enough to name the one or two things worth fixing, and whether two weeks is worth it.
Early, and where they are. Interviews run thirty to forty-five minutes each, at the yard before the trucks roll or on site at lunch, all inside the first week. Nobody sits through more than one. The delivery date is set on day one, so it never drags into the season.
Winter, ideally, or the shoulder weeks. Seasonal is the point: the assessment maps the busy months from the people who lived them, then puts the plan in place before the next one starts. Grain-systems and ag-service outfits on the county line have the same shape, a short season and a long tail of paperwork.
