Dispatch lives in a group text
The day's crews, changes and callbacks run through one thread only the owner reads all of. The assessment shows which of those messages should be a schedule everyone can see.
AI consulting · DeMotte, Indiana
Contractors running crews across Northwest Indiana, ag operations, shops and clinics along 10 and 231. Past twenty people, the day runs on handoffs. We map them and write the plan.
First call is free. The visit after it is usually the same week.
DeMotte's companies are bigger than the town looks. Contractors run crews out of here to job sites in Cedar Lake, Crown Point and Valparaiso and are back on Halleck Street by dark. Ag and feed operations work the sandy ground the old marsh left behind and keep accounts that turn with the seasons. Shops and yards along 10 and 231 ship across the region, and the clinics and offices in town serve subdivisions that fill in a little more every year. Past twenty people, these companies stop fitting in one head. Dispatch lives in a group text. Field tickets get typed into the estimate, then the invoice, then payroll. The spring list is somebody's memory.
That is the size the AI Opportunity Assessment is built for: companies of twenty or more, where the owner still knows every name but cannot see every truck. Over two weeks we sit down with people at every level, from the owner to the person who runs the job, and follow real work from the first call to the paid invoice. Every step that eats hours or causes errors gets tagged and gets a number. Then you get the written plan: what to do first, what is a big swing, what to leave alone, and the math behind each. Nothing goes in it you have not already seen and argued with.
The plan is yours whether we build it or your own people do. We charge for the thinking. Building is optional. We live and work in DeMotte, so the interviews happen at your shop, on your schedule, and the first sit-down is usually the same week.
What we tend to find
The day's crews, changes and callbacks run through one thread only the owner reads all of. The assessment shows which of those messages should be a schedule everyone can see.
Hours and materials go on a paper ticket, into the estimate, into the invoice, into payroll. In a thirty-person contractor that is one full-time job nobody hired for.
Spring starts, fall shutdowns, field and feed accounts: the work that carries the year sits in one person's head. A list that reminds both sides before the rush is usually the first quick win.
The assessment
The AI Opportunity Assessment runs the same way everywhere: we sit down with the people doing the work, map how a job actually moves, and hand you a written plan for where AI actually helps. Yours to keep, whether we build it or your own people do.

Wheatfield is ten minutes east on 10, Roselawn ten west at the interstate, and Rensselaer twenty south on 231. The assessment runs the same way in each.
Questions
Yes, that is the size the assessment is built for. Past twenty people the owner knows every name but cannot see every truck, and the handoffs between the office and the field are where the hours go. Under twenty, book the call anyway. We will tell you straight if two weeks is more than you need.
Thirty to forty-five minutes each, three to fifteen of them depending on your size, all inside the first week. For field people we work around the schedule: early at the shop before trucks roll, or at the end of the day. The delivery date is set on day one, so it never drags.
Yes. We live and work here, and most of what we do is a short drive in any direction. That matters less than it sounds: the assessment runs the same way in Crown Point or Joliet. What it does mean is that the sit-down after the first call can happen this week, at your shop, with no travel to schedule around.
Your next step
Forty-five minutes on the phone, free, then a visit if it makes sense. You'll leave the call knowing the two or three places we'd look first, and whether the assessment is worth your team's time.
